The ladies welcomed Oxford City, who play in the Southern Region Premier Division, to Fawcetts Field on Sunday in the League cup QF.
The Linnets, who are the only Division One team left in the competition and an average age of 18 years old had a strong start and on 15 minutes, Liv Bessant was found 35 yards out, flicked the ball over the defender, made 10 yards and finished with class past the City keeper. The home team were definitely the stronger in the first half, but couldn't increase their lead despite creating a few chances.

The start of the second half was quite even, possession-wise but Oxford were strongly growing into the game and creating chances of their own but fired a few off-target.
With 10 minutes left, a shot from outside the box through bodies, nestled in the bottom right-hand corner despite Barnes getting her fingertips to it.
The final 10 was end to end, both sides trying to find the winner and avoid the dreaded penalty shootout, but it was not to be.
